I have a 2002 400ex yes it is pretty fast and I love honda atvs. But I am an adrenaline junkie I always liked the thought of having a suzuki lt500 but I did'nt like the fact of a suzuki being parked in my garage. Plus I heard that they are crap and are constantly having trouble. So I have come up with what I think is a master plan to build the quad of my dreams. I want to take my ex and install a cr500 engine. It will be just for trail riding and waxing my buddies *****es except for one who rides a cr500. any info, help, orinput would be nice.

Any input will help!!!!!!!!!!

Service Honda has a CR250 kit. Looks pretty cool and I'm sure a CR500 engine is doable... I hope you’re good at fabricating and what not...

if your good at fabbing and have the tools to do it. it shouldnt be a problem for you. i've built a 250REX using TRX250R engine and it worked out fine.

would be cool to see a 500REX built:cool:

Before you start fabbing, get a frame gusset kit. The CR500 motors have a powerband for tearing arms out of their socket when it gets on the pipe, and that frame can't handle the power for very long without stressing it to the point where it cracks. I'm doing the same thing to mine when I start my 650EX project.
