250x 1987. first post here, hoping you guys might be able to help. my atv wont kickstart but will popstart then stay running well. popstarted yesterday ran through the gears with a new plug got about three hundred yards and back and bike shut off..plug is black. was a hotter plug...timing was good no sputter or poor running..carb should be fine because it runs well through the gears..could this be an ignition problem like coil or cdi unit..it has good compression but just wont start by kickstarter..any help appreciated
