even if it does would unless you have major engine work i dont think the motor could handle youd probobly foul quite a few plugs

i highly doubt it the 250ex carb will almost fit inside the 400ex carb.

in this day and age anything will work if you have the tools to do so.

with that being said, you'd have to make a custom intake manifold for this to even work properly.

Theres just too much air for a motor of that size. Look at the ports an such, plus its only 2 valves so its not needed and all the work it took you probally wouldnt see much of a gain. Getting something slighlty bigger than stock like the carbs listed in the other forum.

OEM 250ex carb: 22mm piston valve
OEM 400ex carb: 38mm piston valve with accelerator pump

now thats a huge difference in size. Good luck fitting it or trying to jet it.

You are not entirely correct.

The ports are somewhat small, thats nothing a good port job can't fix....and there's only 2 valves- wait a second, GM and Dodge use 2-valve designs, their performance V8s don't seem to be hurting for power, do they? it's not the number of valves, but the size of them that matters.

They offer big carbs this size (22-28mm) for slightly modded CRF50 based machines, and hell the 300ex guys even at stock displacement love to use the 400ex carb, the 229cc motor might be a little sluggish at the bottom end but would absolutely scream up top, no question.

Again, it'd require a custom intake manifold, which is certainly doable, but beyond the mechanical abilities of many on this board.

Not a problem if you have a tig welder, just weld it right to the head and check for air leaks and you should be good to go!!!
I just had to say that.:D :D :D

the bike we got a 400 carb on is a port/polished 330 with a cam, and most other times I read of 400 crabs on 300's is a big bore or something, not many stock displacements.
