I am installing a Lonestar Xcaliber axle in my bros 2001 400ex and the only problem i am having is that the stock hubs are not fitting on the axle splines. I had a 2002 400ex and the stock hubs fit on perfectly. Do you think maybe the stock hubs on his quad are worn out or something? It seems like the lonestar splines are more too a point. If we cant get these to go on we are probably gonna egt the lonestar rear hubs. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

do you have the correct amount of splines? if that is wrong you might have a 250r axle.they will interchange other than the hubs. i had a durabend 1 time that was a bear to get the hubs on and it was the correct axle.

I never had a problem when I put my axle on, like said above maybe you have a different spline count. EX's have is it 24? I think maybe someone else can chime in about that.

I had that problem. I had to file on the splines untill they fit. The axle splines were a little to big to fit in my hubs.

if its a new chrome axle you'll want to remove the chrome on the splines.

Yea it's a brand new axle with chrome on it. I will look into sanding down the splines a little. Thanks for all your guys input.

i wouldn't sand it but rather use a steel brush or air tool with a "scotch brite" wheel on it.

I didn't have to do anything to get the LSR on my 2001 either.
Double check to make sure you have the correct axle. I'm pretty sure '400ex' is stamped on it near the middle.
