Ok so heres the deal. My uncle has a 1994 Chevy 1500 truck for sale. 68,000 miles, driven maximum of 2 miles to work and back each day. 305 V8. Has a little bit of rust on the fenders. Besides the very small amount of rust it is mint. He said he'll let it go to me for around $3000. How good are those trucks on gas? By good I mean will it get 14-15? I know thats what the 350's in those truck get around. Or is that 305 a little underpowered for this truck? Should offer him less than $3000? It's my first vehicle so this is about as good as it gets I think.

is it 4 wheel drive? if so then for the mileage and everything id say that $3000 is a good deal, the 305 shouldnt be too underpowered

I'm in a totally different environment then you but make sure you really check it for rust. I have a 95, it's got the 4.3 v6, and when I got it it just had a tiny bit of rust around the passenger front fender and after the first winter about 3 inches of the fender rotted up, the lower corners behind the doors of the cab rusted out.
A 305 would probably be fine, my 4.3 wasn't too bad, it wasn't good though and I took it easy on it for the most part... Now it's dead though... rotting away in the yard.

The rust is around the driver's front fender and the passenger's rear fender. Not much at all, being as it sat outside all its life.
Yeah its a 4WD.

That was a 4wd, when I got rid of it, it had 125,000 miles and not a hint of rust. It was in mint condition.
