i just ordered +.5 houser a arms and 3+2 hipers. am i going to be to wide for xc/harescrambles? i knew i should have probobly went with 4+1's but i didnt. xc guys please chime in and let me know asap so i can see if i catch my order before its shipped out.

I think you will be fine with the 3/2. Truth is that a factory Honda wheel is 5.5" wide anyhow so neither a 3/2 or 4/1 put the tire in exactly the same position.

with 3+2 wheel you gain like .5 each side so 1 inch total.

well what is regulation for hs and xc? you will be at 48" wide in the front.

to me 48" is really pushing it for XC. 46" or 47" wide is where you want to be IMO.

You will gain +1 inch overall from the a-arms. You won't gain anything from using 3+2 as this is basically the equivalent of factory offset. Factory is actually a 5.5" wheel so you don't actually gain a full +1 inch when switching to +.5 a-arms at the same time you switch to 3+2 wheels.

With +.5" a-arms and 4/1 wheels, you will be more narrow than stock.
