ok so first of all, hello i'm new to this forum. so i bought a 97 300ex for 750$ it needs tie rod ends, front wheel bearings, sprockets, new battery, frame was broken where the grab bar goes but they welded it back up. the engine smokes on start up and it looks like shes been drivin like it was stolen. now the question is should it be a parts bike or should i fix it up i'm about 6'2 and maybe 200lbs not sure maybe 160. would it be good for me or should i make it the gf's bike or just fix it up nicely and then modd it out with big bore kit and other sweet stuff thxs for reading

they'll haul just about anybody, just depends how fast you want to go... I'm like 225 and they haul me fine and are fun even though my skill somewhat exceeds their abilities to brag a little... Would work will for the g/f as well.

No back up for the electric start sucks.. Had that problem on my 400ex and my 450er, battery dies and you better hope you can bump start it!

im 6'0 295, i had one, it pulled me around pretty good. put and HMF pipe and filter on it and itl rip. nothing wrong with 300ex. you dont need reverse anyhow if you use ur head when your riding.
