Anyone ever do this? I'm in the process of it now, i have cut my fenders to match and they look great but the only problem is that the top bracket mount on the right side is about an inch to 1 1/2 short of connecting to the stock mounting point on the frame and the left side is too long to connect to the mount. any suggestions cause i think either the torch is going to come out and I'm going to bend the bracket or i will cut and reuse the stock 400ex bracket for the top mounts.I will have pics to show you guys when im finished...thanks.

well I'm back in and i got the bracket to fit using one of my 400ex brackets, had to straighten it out and used the clip from the bracket to connect the two good fit and the bad news is i also found out this look......i don't know if I'm going to weld it or buy a new one.Any of you guys have a sub frame lying around and want to sell it cheap lol.

In the first pic of the heel guards the plastic looks to touch but from the back side pic you see that its not even close.I still have some time in detail work making the edges nice and smooth.I will post up some more pics also idk if i ever saw this conversion in the past but id like to share it with you guys any ways.

good picture nice angle.. for the whole plastic cutting i used a dremel with a sanding drum it forced me to work slower and it helps when your annal like i am. Also i used masking tape for a line to follow. The heel guards and pegs make my out dated 03 plastics have a little more appeal now it's like getting a hair cut for a quad lol...and its a cheap mod.YES THE HANDEL BARS ARE ON THE WAY..FEEL FREE TO POST SOME FEEDBACK AS IM SURE I WILL APPERIATE IT. THANKS..

Nice post! How strong do they feel? I wish stock heel guards could take more abuse; that's why I like propegs with integrated heel guards. Great looking budget mod for sure!

BTW, bummer about the subframe.

A new one from Honda is $100 or less. Part# 50200-HN1-A40ZA

It is ok, but I just never understand why people need the approval of others. If you like it and are proud of it who cares what others think. I would have just gotten some nerfs with heel guards. But again who cares what I think

Always look at the newest year you know will work, Honda prices are typically cheaper the newer the model is.

From Mrcycles website... plus you can call them directly and get it a little cheaper. BUT, due to shipping cost I would use this price and part # to negotiate with your local Dealer.

Since the aftermarket guys sell the same subframe for all years I would say yes.

Heck you can get a whole new frame from Honda for $350ish..

Genuine Honda parts for newest models are typically very cheap. For example I bought a spare set of the 08 Mudguards for an experiment and they were only $9 each!

08400EX how is your sensor in your pipe doing did you get the results you were looking for? and whats your top speed now?

It did great and definitely got the results I wanted. The beauty is that it will be great for ongoing tuning and even testing products to see if they really make a difference..or not.

I already have planned to do a test session comparing closed airbox vs open airbox vs Powerlid vs EHS Outerwears Lid. By looking at the A/F ratios across the entire rpm range of identical runs with each setup will tell me a lot about increased airflow...or not.

Haven't had a good enough location to fully test top speed and it isn't really a priority for me at the moment.

I look forward to seeing those results. I ordered the EHS outerwears lid last week...should be here anyday.
Oh, and the heel guards look great!
