Just got my 9 year old boy an 08 white TRX90EX. I decided to go with the Honda because I want him to learn the basics of a manual trans plus they have excellent resale value.. We've only had it for a couple days but so far he's doing real good. Can someone post up some sites where I can find aftermarket parts for this little quad? Thanks

No sites in mind but I do have some suggestions. If he is jumping, the tires will become too bouncy. You may want to try Razrs or something equivilant. For more power, pipe and jet it and put a UNi filter in. We have a FMF pipe on ours and it was a big difference. Also shocks will become a problem. Best if you go with a dual A arm set-up but the very least you should do is upgrade the shocks. We went with Works.

That should keep the little guy happy for a while.

There's a few out there....... Profab (Fincher), ATV Four-play, Dave Carter, and I'm sure some that I don't know. Don't be afraid of DC because he just started to make them..... Dave’s products have proven them self’s over the years. I believe it's all about the weight......... and I can't see any advantage to being any wider than 44" on a mini. All the stuff I’ve seen for the trx90 has been big and heavy. Dave's swing arm takes the 44" Dominator axle made for the DRR and the a-arms are just about the same as the DRR. Kyle's is going to be a little skinner and little lighter ……I guess we'll see how it works out.

Not saying anything bad about Dave by any means. Just letting them know about other manufacturers that are out there. We dont have a problem with weight and most of the top running TRX's are running the profab setup along with an SCR motor. But it's all about who you feel comfortable with.

Thanks!! that is accually a picture from last year, but the quad hasnt changed any. Kyle won a WPSA moto last year on that quad so all we did was freshen the motor and replace some critical parts..

LOL I know what you mean by wanting to get started building. When I tore this thing down to the bare frame last year It wasnt pressure from me getting it done it was from my 12 year old......LOL he was harder to work for than the guy that pays my check to me every week.......

Looks great keep the pics coming.

To post more than one in a single post you need to upload your pics to photobucket they need to have a web address then copy and paste the url into your post in img brackets. On photobucket just click on the last line under your pic and the url in img brackets is copied and all you have to do is paste it in your post. Here's some pics of the powdercoating we did last night.... right click on these pics and go to properties and you'll see where they are stored.

What size of motor is this?? And did you mount the motor through the swing arm bolt??

blazen582
03-11-2008, 03:47 PM
The engine is a cr 85.. The rear swing arm is a KOQ's.. But the rear mount of the engine is not using the swing arm bolt. I made different brackets for the rear engine mount. I did not have 3400.00 for a JB frame!!

Nice looking TRX, awsome wheel and tire combo. I built one with a OGM 125 pitbike motor with a 146 kit, runs real good. Built it for the outlaw tracks. Dont have any pics when it was all together, Im redoing the frame right now.

That KOQ RACING stuff looks pretty sweet on your quad, I hear they have alot of good stuff for the trx 90's and have a couple of 90 mod styles too.
