Looking to buy a utility trailer with the future in mind. My 2000 Kaw 400 fits fine on a 6.0 X 12 sideways. How about the newer utility atv's, do they fit fine on the 6.0 or should I being looking for a 6.5 width? Specs only advise on "total" length and wheel base, which really doesn't help with what will actually fit on a trailer loaded from the side. Do most NEW models fits within a 72 width? Thanks,

You'll just want a bigger one later, so get the bigger one.

Just go with an 18' x 7' and be done with it

I agree with CBrooks , 18x7 is the way to go (unless you only have 2 quads). We have 3 and the 6.5 x 12 is perfect for that. Its a Parker Performer , No rails (but I added wood ones painted black) It has 2 loading ramps that go under the R side at the back behind the wheel. It is single axle which is ok for us. Looking back , I should have went bigger but did not. This one fits perfect in our garage with all 3 quads on it. It tows llike butter , I cant even tell at times we have anothing on it. My only issue is visibilty when it is empty , All I can see it the wheel wells.

I only have 1 atv now and am getting second later this month (youth model). The tow vehicle is a pickup (full size) thus I have no need for a larger trailer then what was stated. My concern is buying a new utility quad in a couple of years (sell the current one) and making sure it will fit on the trailer width wise. Will your "UTILITY" quads fit in 6ft wide or is the 6.5ft needed. I need to understand if the fullsize utility quads need the extra half foot to fit when loaded width wise.
Thanks again,

all you would a to do is take is 2 2x4x6.5 and lay them across there if it doesnt
