Looking for more power. I saw the Wiseco 440 kit in my Moutain offroad mag. for only $260.00 sleeve/ piston/ wrist pin/ rings/ gaskets etc... I thought they were much more expensive than this? I am an avid wrench head working and building my car very often. I was told it is a pretty simple swap just getting the sleeve can be a ******. I was also wondering what a good shop should charge me for such work? This will be going along with my full exhaust/ jet/ intake/ hotcams/ suspension.

To put in the new sleeve and bore it to size will be between $100- $150. I would say do a 416. Built right it will be as fast as most 440s plus you dont have to have a new sleeve put in and you can still bore it to a 426 when it wears out. Basically you pay less money and can still be just as fast. Compression makes more of a power difference than the bore size. Im not saying bore has nothing to do with it, Im just saying compression does more.

is the 416 kit just a longer arm or is it a domed piston?
