I've used ITP's, AMS sider winders, and Sand Haulers.

The sidewinders and sand haulers are the two I liked the best, they both seemed to get a little more traction than the ITP's I thought.

do straight paddles affect your turning that much

Not really, no matter what paddle you have its still going to slide in the sand.

I'd just pick which ever ones you like the looks of. All of them will get you around find in the sand.

That's a poor way to go about selecting a tire... imo:ermm:

Sure, any paddle will get you around but some perform much better than others. Stock tires will get you around too:o

I've always ran Haulers but I think I was over paddled, would have liked to have tried some 6 or 7 paddle Haulers.

Check out the Dune section, there are a few threads disscussing paddle tires.

sand star and sand sharks are the best all around tire in my opinion... hook up great but doesn't effect turning as much as the straight paddles

I run 20x10x10 8-Paddle Extreme Haulers.

I run Sand Stars and I think they're great! I first had Sand Gear tires, worst money ever spent. My Brother-in-Law had some Gecko's and those were horrible too. I would like to try some straight paddles my self though. Unless you’re looking to drag all the time I think that Sand Stars would be a really good choice.

I think when it comes to paddles it's all preference. Some say Sand Stars some say Haulers and some say Gliders. I love my Stars and I don't care that they weigh 3 pounds more or whatever it is they work great and have yet to wear at all.
