Like the title says........but I am running a 06 HRC kit with a 03 CRF cam. Anyone know what jetting I am going to need. I wouldn't think the jet kit I bought for the kit would work correctly with a different cam. Any help please.

The jets that come with the HRC kit should be a good starting point for you.
The 03 CRF cam won't change ur jetting at all compared to running the 06 HRC cam.

Really? So is the crf cam better or worse than the hrc cam, woods wise?

Both are good low end cams for woods. 03 CRF should have a little more mid/top.

WELL ....YOUR CLOSE. THE 03-06 CRF CAM IS THE 06-07 HRC CAM. THE 02 CRF IS ITS OWN ANIMAL. I HAVE A 03-06CRF CAM IN THE BAG HERE...I CHECKED THE MICROFISHE BEFORE I BOUGHT IT.

BUT TO ANSWER THE POST IT WILL BE IDENTICAL ....BECAUSE ITS THE SAME CAM !!:macho

I don't think the 03 CRF is the same as the 06-07 TRX HRC.

And the questions go on.....

What about the needle, where should the stopper be placed??

Wish I just bought the kit to have the manual instead of bugging you guys!

Is it common to be switching out all 4, or atleast the exhaust side or the intake side?? I just don't want to **** this up!

Your talking about the shims?

Yeah its common to have to change all 4 shims if it's been a while since the last adjustment.
Most of the time when I do other peoples valve shimming, its very common to have to change at least 3 shims.
The right side intake and exhaust normally go out of spec the fastest.
The left side exhaust hardly ever seems to move most of the time.

Well I got it all set up.......on the second shot. But now she won't fire up. Stupid electric start keeps killing the battery! So gota wait till tomorrow to jump her, don't feel like pissing the neighbors off this late at night!

I threw the clip on the needle in the middle, 4 down or 4 up however you look at it. So maybe have to dick with that too??

And now the next day......

Fired up right away this morning with a little jump start help. Idled great, then I took her for a spin down the road. Great power difference until I got to the top of any gear where then she started to bog down.

Switched the clip from the middle (4th) to the 3rd one from the bottom. Made a hair of a difference, but now I believe it's jetting time.

Kit came with a 162, really think it would be any higher than a 165??

Air box lid it off? Baffle out?
Sure its not hitting the rev limiter?

Civicssuck

Didn't have the lid off, should of tried that. It's got the HRC end cap thingy.

When sitting in the driveway revving it, it will hit rev limiter pretty easy. But when riding it down the road it just gets to that point and bogs down.

Went down to the local shop and all they had for the next size up was a 170. Didn't feel like spending $7-8 for something probably too big.

Got back home put it back together and left the box lid off......and she ran like a champ!

Thanks for the help. 5th gear wheelie like nothing now!
