starter sylniod?

I have to jump my starter sylniod to make my 400 turn over the button will not work and my neutral light won't work.
don't know what's wrong im guessin the sylniod is bad.

Myne does the same thing..Move your gear shifter back and forth with the start button pushed and see what happens

What happens when you pull in the clutch? With the neutral light not working, I suspect it's the neutral switch (or wiring) that has failed. Pulling in the clutch (assuming the clutch switch and wiring is intact and working properly) should also allow you to start.
