View Full Version : Which Will Switch Over from 05' to 06' + 450R

Ok heres the deal Im looking at selling my 2005 450R to get a 06' or newer 450R and Im wanting to know what would fit off my 05' onto the 06' or newer??? It not to much but I just dont want to have to buy all new stuff to get the new quad the way I want it... If you can help me on any parts listed below, thanks...

-Full HMF Balance Carbon FIber Exhaust - (if something is diff. is it the head pipe or the slip-on part or all of it?)
-AC Racing Nerf Bars
-K&N Filter
-Handle Bar Clamps - ( the steering stim didnt change did it, I just got new handle bar clamps and would like to keep them)

Im not positive but I think the only think that will interchange is the handlebar clamps. Don't quote me on that.

he is correct...

the subframe changed slightly so the exhaust has a different mounting point and won't match up.

there was slight change to where the motor mounts so the nerfs should not fit. although pro armor nerfs do fit all years

the carb changed so there is a different airbox and filter

well I just talked to the guy that works on my quad an he said the nerfs, bars, & slip on part of the exhaust will fit and the header will but it will be a tight fit b/c the bend is different...

He's wrong about the nerfs and header. The front mounts for the AC nerfs won't line up. The angle of the exhaust ports are different on the 06 head. It will bolt up, but it won't be a proper seal.

Ok if I was to get the HRC header and put my HMF slip on to the HRC Header how good do you think that will work???

Only if its an 06 HRC header.

and the 06 HRC HMF combo is what I have on my bike.

Ok well it would be a 07'-08' b/c no one has a 06' for sale new...

06 07 and 08 are the same headpipe so it would work....

well I think Im going to keep mine for a while and get me a new one late on this year when I have more $$$ saved up... I was told by alot of people that its not worth selling mine to just get the newer one...
