This weekend was the start of the season for many racing series. So post up your pics and stories of how your Outlaw/Predator did.

Here are my pics from the XC race (1.5 hour) this weekend. I was in the 40+ ama class. Got 3rd in class not sure yet what the overall was. The extra clearance on the IRS was great. This quad is much faster in the rough stuff than I am capable of going. Had a great time and these old bones are sore today ;)

good idea on the post! Cool pics! Looks like you are about to lose it in the top picture, or is that just the angle?

Evasive where was that race, I was hoping to race the OCCRA races at Woodward this year. Not sure if I'll get the chance now. Sure looks like fun.

I did not wreck there and I was also surprised when I saw the pic because I do not remember getting that far over. Of course this was on the 4th lap and that lap is kind of a blur to me now :eek2:

Smokin- This race was at the Stillwater 500. There were 112 quads entered not counting the mini's. It was a lot of fun. The course was around 7-8 miles per lap. The course was really tight once you got out of the scoring loop and since this is a riding park the ruts were already deep and rough. The Woodward race is the next race, you should try to make it. It is a 4 hour drive for me, so I am still trying to figure out if I drive that morning or camp with the family out there.

My 10 year old got first in his class and this was his very first race. He is the one on the red Predator.

Congrats for both you and your boy on the race. I am 5 weeks into a broken foot and still off work, no way can I make it now. My boy is 9 and rides a 250ex is there any class that he could race in that won't put him with the adults?

smokinwrench, here in pa at local races we have what it called a Youth Production class that is for I believe just 250's but don't quote me on that cause I'm not sure and its just kids from the age group of 12-16 I think. But just find out what racing district you are and look on their website and it should tell you what class's there is to race a 250ex in. I hope ths helps good luck!!!

Aw, you oklahomians get all the fun, with your sand dunes, and racing districts (just kidding). The track I used to race at here in Missouri got shut down the summer before I got my outlaw. Now I have to drive 7 hours to come play in your sandbox (very jealous). Well at least I still have chadwick (even if it is 4 hours away).

Although it's not a race pic, I was running very hard to try to catch it before it got to the pond. Apparently 3rd gear with the throttle stuck is much faster at the 300 yard dash than I am.

Hope your foot heals quickly and well. Maybe you can hit some races at the end of the year.
The short course minis run for 30 minutes and have a 125 cc limit. There are 4 classes-14 under expert class, 14 under "A" class and 10 under. The Mini-mini class is for 7 under 70 cc.

The long course youth class runs for 1.5 hours and on the big course. It has a 200 cc 2-stroke limit and 300 cc 4 stroke limit.

man do I feel bad for you Somewon that really sucks and hopefully your foot heals soon Smokinwrench because I'm sure it sucks to be laid off of work and not be able to ride huh? it would drive me insane. And another reason I feel bad for you Somewon is because you have to travel so far to ride. I never relized how lucky I was t have so many national tracks and local tracks around me. I live 15 min away from Steel City MX, 45 min away from Pleasure Valley Raceway and 1 hour and 45 min from High Point and I have another 3-8 local tracks within an hours drive away. I guess I live in a pretty nice quad enviroment as well cause quads out number dirt bikes where I live. And I live about 1 hour away from Pittsburgh can't beat it. Where all you other guys live? Do you have as many tracks as I do around you?

I live in sw kansas right near Dodge City. We have 3 tracks in the area within 100 miles, all but 1 have closed down. It didn't have any harescrambles last season, supposed to have 6 this year. They have mx racing but no quads show up. A big turn out for a harescramble on the quads is 15-20. I have crap loads of riding area right here, I can also drive 75 miles to Beaver Dunes in Ok, 85 miles to the new Syracuse Sand Dunes and 150 miles to Little Sahara Ok.

Foot is healing well, but not willing to race in a few weeks to risk hurting it this soon.

Evasive you said... The long course youth class runs for 1.5 hours and on the big course. It has a 200 cc 2-stroke limit and 300 cc 4 stroke limit.... Do they run at the same time adults run? Is there an age limit. I don't want him running with adults. I have read the OCCRA site and can't find the info I'm looking for.

Thanks
Josh

DS450maniac,

I live in the Kansas city area (Missouri side). and none of the local tracks allow quads, just dirt bike only. I raced for a year or two at grindstone MX park near st. Joe but that got shut down. The closest park for me is about an hour away at deepwater, but it is so rutted out from trucks driving down the trails and the lake flooding the area that it's not real fun since you wind up towing each other out every 50 feet. I can drive a little farther to finger lakes in columbia (it's kinda neat since it's an old strip mine and there are some nice hill climbs) but it also suffers some water issues at times.

if anyone knows of a local park i'm missing let me know.

Somewon I feel bad for ya, I leave my house on my quad ride down the street push the button at the stop light ride across the highway and to the dried up Arkansas river bed, I can ride 50 miles west before I hit water and 30 miles east before hitting water.

All of us somewhat local guys need to get together this summer at Waynoka. Lets set something set up for 2-3 months out and get er done. Just to let you guys know I drink like a fish and ride hard.

I have not raced since I had my Predator I can't wait to put this outlaw on the track and show the yamahas and hondas I'm even faster on this.

you got it bad somewon and I also feel super bad for you. I forgot to mention I have abandoned mines behind my house and me and my buddies ride thur and it has a little bit of everything in it, that we built up and the I can access the mines right behind my gargage by a bridge that I built. I love living in PA its so quad friendly and the quads out number dirt bikes everywhere around here accept at some races. And I live about 2 hours or so from the Hatfield McCoy Trails but I haven't been thur yet but I will soon hopefully. Anyhow it all comes down to this Somewon...MOVE 40 miles east of pittsburgh and you'll have all the tracks you want to ride on.:o lol
