ok so if you had $1500.00 and HAD to rebuild your engine due to misfortune of your piston. What would you do? what parts would you buy? and where would you get them? and why?

im gettin ready to do this finally. just cant decide what i want. grrr

I dont want all top end outta this. i want good low, strong mid and enough top end to out run a raptor...

thanks

i like my 416. with a port and polish, cam, harden rockers and stiffer valve springs will run you 1200$ or so. with my wb e series, i have real good low end, excelent mid and good top end. not only will you be building a fast bike but with reliability also.

no, 1200$ us. do the engine builders include harfaced rockers, valve springs and everything? and a port and polish?? here are the numbers i found.
416 kit=$155(with xr gaskets)
valve springs=$90
port and polish=$300(but will vary)
hard faced rockers= $250
cam=$150-$200
bigger valves & shorter valve guides=$160
total=$1330

this would build a rock solid engine.

I would do what I did A SEARCH yes I said a search. So many people just like to post and get answers to their "own special" problems but would you believe it that we all have the same basic motor and problems as well.

I am not being an arse but look thru some of the old threads on motors and compression or deck heights etc (you know the ones before the site started swirling down the toilet) and you will be suprized how much good info is on this site.

Plus this way you can get enough info to decide which set up would be better for you not just that this guy prefers his 416 and that one his 465 etc.

And then after getting all the info you need you can come back with a arsenal of knowledge and questions and test the best of them rather than get all the BS.

But deff go with the 416 as its a 440 killer :rolleyes: ;)

yeah, do a search, like 440ex4me said. you will find a lot of info. personal preferances will prevail in a thread like this one. i did a lot of asking around and looking before deciding on the 416. it's all a matter of what you need out of the ol'400.

IF EVERY1 DID A SEARCH THEN EVENTUALY THERE WOULD BE NO MORE NEW POSTS AND IT WOULD GET BORING...

It's better then reading the same question over and over and over and over again.

DONT READ EM OVER AND OVER IGNORE IT.... YOU KNOW THERE IS NEWER PRODUCTS THAN SOME OF THE OLD INFORMATION...

That money will get you a 3 angle valve job w/ oversized valves, port & polish, a cam, a 416,426,440 (whatever) piston, and hardened rockers.

After that you still could use a full exhaust and a carb, another 1k.

As far as what to get and where to get... .better do a search. I can say when my motor blows up I will be refering to the old 'decking the cylinder' post. for all my rebuild tips.

OK man sorry but guys I think I am gonna lose it now. :grr

Define boring for us!

Boring for most of the people I know is repetition, like reading the same book over and over and over. Sort of like seeing the same questions all the time :grr Not that I blame anyone for looking to get help (this is a great place to get it, for now) but when peeps are just too damn lazy to look around and think they are better than all that it just gets me ticked off big time.

Wouldnt it be better if you took a little of your precious bs time and got some info and a little knowledge on what you really need to question. I sure as he!! think so.

Tell ya what maybe I was the arse to respect the others here and look around at hundreds of old posts and get some basic knowledge b4 even joing as a member, and then you my friend may be the better for just jumping in (no real prob here, yet)and then having the balls to talk crap about the people trying to help.:rolleyes: (now theres your freakin problem)

You boys deff need to do some learning and I dont mean about quads either.

I added those up on a calculator and only got $1,0955. How do you get $1,330?

im not gonna be a dill weed(according to some) and start a new thread about what after martket card would be best for a common 416, so ill do it within a thread that had a little somthing about a carb.

question- if i was to do an average 416 eng, what would be a good aftermarket carb to put on it? sizes and price?

The best , of course is the FCR, but the Lectrons are cheaper and pretty good too.
