We will have our first "Swap Meet" weekend at the Breezewood Proving Grounds on Saturday and Sunday April 19th and 20th.

You can bring all your used parts or entire quad to try and sell at the park that weekend. There is no fee to bring and display your used and or new merchandise other then the regular gate and riding fee's.

I've had a tremendous amount of people telling me they can't wait to bring all their used parts up to sell or trade. So start digging through the garage now and gather your parts and get them ready.

Have any used parts you want to try and sell before then Post it here !!! If it don't sell bring it on up, let everyone know you'll be here with all your spare parts on 4/20.

Several sets of tires and rims, nerf bars, bumpers, seats, plastics, etc....

Not much I can do about it now, flyers and adds have already been printed. Besides who's gonna go to e-town when they could come to BPG for an entire weekend of riding?

Hey Pappy,

Kevin said you are selling an immaculate Lt450R, do you plan on coming up and trying to sell it??? Haven't seen you and the boys in awhile. Been checking out all the cool pics of Cody on the new 250. Looking forward to seeing you and the family and getting some of them awesome pictures you take.

Dan,

I am definitely going to get some info together for the US Buildings 30X40' Model A building. This building is open on each end but does have the brackets for building your own endcaps to match the decor of your house, etc.

Jon,

I was planning on using that cool building to make a tunnel jump over the track. You ride through it one direction then on top its covered with dirt and makes a great tabletop - 50 feet exactly.

It could double as a tornado bunker then. :D

We are set for an awesome weekend, The tracks are in excellent shape. I've been adding mulch to the tracks all week to loam up the soil. The weather is also suppose to be perfect with temps in the low 70's.

If you have any parts or entire quads to get rid of this should be the weekend. I've got a ton of new and used atv parts to sell. There should be something for everyone to browse around at. So start cleaning out those old parts now, and I'll see you this weekend.

No kidding! I saw Barry on my way out this evening. Pappy it was a rough day for riders up there today. Not sure why but the ambulance was there at least 3-4 times. Sorry to hear about Barry! I hope all turns out well for him and all the riders that took falls today.

Sorry to hear you went down Barry. Although a broken shoulder is bad, it isn't nearly as bad as what was flashing through my mind reading Pappy's post. Pappy tells a story like my wife...you have to listen to get to the punchline. ;) I am like tell me the ending first and then how you got there. :)

Barry, please let everyone know how you are doing if you get on the computer. I hope you aren't out of action for too long. I didn't know what a "broken shoulder" meant exactly so I looked it up. As near as I can tell, you broke the bone in the ball and socket portion of your shoulder. Sounds like it can go from a mild break all the way to some serious chit. Needless to say, hopefully yours is on the mild side.

Yeah we had our first two trips to the hospital for the year both on the same day. Fortunately they weren't real serious. The first rider came up short on the water jump and went over his bars landing on his head. They said he was out cold for almost 2 minutes. Other then the concussion he appeared to be just bruised.

Barry also went down on the Intermediate track. In the very back of the track there is a small table top with a double next to it that not many people hit. Well barry came up a little short and it kicked his rear up and he also went over the bars landing on his head and shoulder. He was knocked out for about half a minute. Barry crashed around 5 pm, took a helicopter ride to Hagerstown Hospital and kevin picked him up and brought him back to the track around 10:30 pm. He said his shoulder was pretty sore but other then that he's ok.

It's pouring down rain here right now (9am sunday).

A big thanks to all the riders who came out yesterday and brought their parts for sale. We had a good turnout and everybody seemed to think it was a good idea. You can count on another "Swap meet" next April.

04-20-2008, 07:42 AM
You should do atleast 3 a year dan, all ive heard is how well it went from folks who called wondering where i was:p

Jon, I will make sure to get it right when I get the call that you went down..lol

Anytime is a good time to bring your used parts out to the park and try and sell them. Our next big event is Memorial day weekend where we will have our only race of the year. A night race under the lights on the big track. We will also be having a cook out that sunday along with riding games, door prizes hay rides and what ever else we can come up with.

If you have parts to sell that will be a great time to haul them out.

Thanks for all the "well wishers"! I got home safely, although I'm pretty sure I shouldn't have been driving. My head is finally getting cleared up, but the shoulder is painful. The ER doc says I have a "Possible Fracture" of the shoulder, but I think it may be an old fracture. Won't know more till I see a specialist, hopefully this week.
I will be back down Memorial Day weekend, doubt I'll be riding though:(
Special thanks to Kevin (KH426) for the late night run to Hagerstown to pick me up, not to mention Dan and Amanda(and everyone else at BPG) for caring. Not many tracks that care what happens to the riders after they leave the track in a helicopter!

Glad to hear you are at least getting around. Hopefully you remember the helicopter ride...it will be the most expensive amusement park you've ever visited! :D

I went to the specialist today.
I do not have a broken bone, it was an old fracture. (I have broken bones near that shoulder 3 or 4 times)
The doc thinks I bruised my rotator cuff, he also said it MIGHT be torn slightly but he thinks it will heal by itself. I have another appointment in 3 weeks, if it's not much better I will be getting a shot.
I won't be riding for awhile anyway. I need a new helmet and I'm thinking about getting a neck brace. I'm getting FAR too old for this kind of abuse!!!

Les Davis
04-22-2008, 05:58 PM
glad to hear your ok Barry! I hate to see people getting hurt at the track. It's supposed to be fun...not painful:D  Hope you heal up soon.

Now that I'm 40 and ache all the time, what am I going to feel like when I'm 60??????

quad2xtreme
04-22-2008, 06:50 PM
Glad to hear the doc thinks you will heal up fine without any type of surgery. I was really looking forward to riding with you Memorial Day weekend. I told Connie you were definitely in for a new helmet. I think the Leatt or the EVS is a really good idea.

Sorry I didn't make it up. I ended up racing in the 40+ class at Birch Creek in Danville, VA on Saturday. I placed 2nd overall. I don't want to reveal too much because I want to do a detailed post of my experience hoping to encourage others to try racing even if it is only once.

My last thought is you will eventually wipe out on every jump on a track...it is only a question of whether it is on your 1st attempt, 100th attempt, or even millionth. Eventually, it is going to happen. I almost bit it on that same jump last time I was there. I took the inside corner which doesn't give a lot of room so you have to be under full throttle. My quad slipped a little sideways as I went off the jump. I landed 1/2 over the side of the lander with Dan coming over the jump behind me. I managed to stay on my quad though. That is a tricky little double if you cut the corner short!!

email me your home address so I can send you the video footage I took of you.

Barry,

Glad to hear your doing ok and that its not too serious. Hopefully you'll be riding again soon. As far as how you'll feel when your 60 - its too late now to worry about it, just keep doing what your doing and have fun. Worry about being 60 when you get there.

.... thats my plan anyway!!

Jon,

Congradulations on the 2nd place finish in your first race, thats pretty awesome. I'm sure you had a blast. Now we'll be expecting big things from you at the MEMORIAL DAY NIGHT RACE Here.
