Im not sure how many hours are on it. I bought it used. The jetting was probably rich i never messed with the jetting. If I remember right it was blue smoke but its been a long time since i rode it. That is the reason i tore it apart is because of the smoke it smoked bad and was a pain to start and it kept fouling plugs. I havent checked the valves I just tore it apart right now and now I am going to check the valves and try to clean them up.

That is quit a bit of carbon you got their.Id buy new valves and valve seals and also have the seats checked out and have that head cleaned up with a slight P&P.my 2 cents.

Agreed

BARE minimum new rings and fix the jetting.

looks lean to me.....

I thot when it ran rich all the extra gas washes everything off.

anyway, I vote have have the valve guides/seals done.

I took it apart for new rings. The cylinder looks good and the piston looks good except fot that buildup. Correct me if im wrong but i believe it ran rich and thats why it looks like that. If it would have ran lean it wouldn't have buildup the rings would probably be shot and the cylinder and piston would probably have scratches.

all of that build up raises your compression
