I am getting oil in my airbox, the quad seems to be running fine, but I am getting oil in the air box. I checked to make sure that I didn't have to much oil in my oversize oil container. It was actually just barely on the dipstick. I would appreciate any help in figuring out what it is.

sounds like somehow its beeing blown through the crank case vent hose into the airbox. I dont know how, but I dont see it getting in there any other way.

any suggestions on how to check to see if it. Know what could be causing it.

Could it be from the air filter?

Look at the white thing that attatches to the intake tube. Is there any oil in that?

what does that mean if there is?

that would mean the oil is getting into the airbox through there. I dont know why or how, but thats what that would mean

That is there for a couple reasons. Emissions and crankcase ventilation mostly. Emissions in that any unburnt gasses will enter the engine again to be burned and for ventilation it has to breathe somehow. If there was no vent it would get hot, condensate and you would have water in your oil. Oil vapor will get pulled through this system also and collect in the intake.

I understand maybe some oilvapor, but he is saying there is quit a bit of oil in there. Mine has never even had a drop in the airbox.

yes, I do get quite a bit, it was actually enough that it was dripping out of the airbox. It may have actually gone through about a quart of oil in the last two or three times that we have been riding.

If your getting huge amounts of oil it usually leads to ring seal or too much oil but you have already checked that. Id do a compression check and a leakdown. I dont want to worry you but thats a good place to start.
