kfx450 or 450R

which one should my friend get. hes leaning towards the kfx450 but i've heard some things about them. and i know the 450r's are good cause my one other friend has one and not a problem yet.

i am a kfx guy, i have ridden hondas, but they just didnt feel very comfy to me. what kinda riding does he mainly do. if it is trail riding then hands down kfx. i havent had a problem yet with mine and i have had it since last may.

well i have both see sig. and had all access to an 08 R that my friend just pretty much gave away recently so the 04-08 are all close enough and out of those two for my trail riding i tip my hat to the kfx.....and i dont even wear a hat!!, but anyway of course your gonna hear a few bad things about all new models people fear what they do not understand, thats a given ive had my kfx since june and ts one of the most easiest to maintain performance quads ive ever had, so the best thing to do is size em both up and go from there.

he mostly rides trails and might go to a track a few times this summer for the fun of it. he was leaning towards to kfx cause it has reverse. but he also likes honda cause he has a 400ex and he hasnt had a problem yet.

idk. I never rode a KFX and i would really like too considering i like the feel of them at the dealerships, but I still love my Honda and you would probably have a hard time getting me to sell it.

Ive ridden 3 kfx450r's. Two stock and one modded. They feel exaclty like a honda 450r. I was instantly comfortable on all of them. The one i rode that was modded felt 2 times faster than my 450r and it has more engine mods.

You will not regret buying a kfx450r. Its my 3rd choice for a new 450 next year. If i dont like the ktm or can am ill be riding green for sure!

I drag race and yes the 450rs are very fast they seem to be pulled away from by the kawi the kawi is much faster off the line and near the end of the track they tear it up dude. They are very crazy the only Re call that i no of would be they had a problem the fuel pump seal was leaking so def Kawi ALL THE WAY!!!!!!

I love honda but i MX and never rode an MX KFX, ive done some work on a quad for a local boy that bought one of the first KFX around here. He wanted a fast trail bike and its perfect for that. it had reverse elec. start and all he had to buy was a slip on, a programmer and he was set. If he is more trails than track buy the KFX cause i have an all stock suspension 450R that i trail ride with and trust me if your used to a bike with good suspension you cant ride a stock 450R, even if it is just once a month when your 4x4 buddies ask you to go on an all night ride with them lol.

Id say you couldnt go wrong with either of them, I have a 450r and love it, I would tell your buddy to ride both of them and see which one he likes. Also, If price is an issue, you could probly get a honda cheaper than a kaw, and if you could even find a nice used one they are all pretty much the same 04-08, with minor changes that wouldnt really matter for trail riding.

But hes worried about how much he might get on a trade in.
some one told him only $2700 and its a 07 400ex.(i could trade my kfx400 03 in for $2100) both stock trade in prices too.

So what do you think he could get on a trade in or would it he better off selling it him self???

well id say for your friend to try to sell it ive seen the good and bad sides of dealers and of course theyll give 2700 for a 07 ex then after that sell it to someone for like 4300 or so.

your going to get screwed by a dealer and thats that. if he was wanting to get quite a bit more he could sell it outrite to an individual, but that might take a while. i think he made the right decission:D

Yeah on a quad that new he better not get in a hurry just to get a new quad. Put the 400EX up for sale and wait it out till it sells because a dealer is out to make money, They will give close to nothing for a used quad
