Quad looks awesome. Only thing I would change is the swingarm skid plate that kind is like a shovel and get hung up on everything and kill your ground clearance. Ditch it for a different kind

hondaking52
03-10-2008, 04:36 PM
the skid plate is staying right were it is, lol, i dont do MX just XC and if i didnt have it my rear end would be would be 6 feet under...lol

Your quad is going to look Bad @$$! Post pictures when you get the Air Scoops and DMP Graphics/Seat Cover put on. I paid a professional to install the vynil sided seat cover. I tried to install it but, it was too hard to get wrinkle free.

You got a heck of a deal on those Air Scoops. Pappy's powder coating is worth every penny! You should see them by next Wednesday (give or take a day).

Paying some one to do the seat cover is smart money spent, if you ask me.

I tried my hardest to line up the silver stripe on the seat cover with the graphics and it just wouldn't happen. In fact, I've seen several DMP Covers Kits on 400EX's and none line up perfectly. Good Luck!

oya thts wat i;m thinkin, probly only gona cost like 30$ or so

hornetgod13
04-11-2008, 01:58 PM
I paid $35.00 to have my seat cover installed. I did the graphics myself.

This is what it looked like when I first installed them in July of 2006.

hondaking52

How did you do the plastics upgrade? did you buy a conversion kit or just buy all new 07 plastics? Did they fit well or did you have to mod them? More pics please

Little question King. I am planning on doing a full rebuild this winter, is there anything I should watch out for. Is the quad terrible to put back together, and how long did it take you.

hondaking52
07-15-2008, 04:31 PM
the complete rebuild probly took me a month or so just workin on it after work and waiting on parts, they are very simple to put back together, wat i did was get a whole bunch of ziploc bags and labeled em for wat parts were in the bag, swingarm bag, front end bag, battery bag etc etc, the one thing tht puzzeled me was were the copper bolts went on the battery section, other then tht it was a breze, if ya got any more Q's just ask....

First off, nice job....and quick....DAOM! That's exactly what I'm doin to mine this winter when/if I rebuild my engine. That black satin looks n-ICE! He's right, though. I used to have one of those skid plates, and all i do is xc type riding, and they do get hung up alot. I now have a pro armor that does not 'drag' me like that one did. ....and it had taken some HARD hits (.25 inch.)!Jmo.

07-15-2008, 07:41 PM
thanks!, ya i didnt want to spend all!!!! of my money last winter, so i just banged out the dents for another season, probly get a new one and some new nerfs sometime soon..... but shocks are on the top of my list right now, lookin at the new HLS shocks, they look/sound pretty good...

I'll have to check those out. I may be in the market for some new boingers. My Ohlins were used off a Cannondale, but are much better than stock for $100. Have fun on your new looker!
