Well im going to be getting a new quad in the spring and i was looking for one that i could take through the trails and go to the track every now and then and be competitive. It brought me to these two machines the raptor 700r and the polaris 525 outlaws and IRS. I know that the polaris is cheaper and has a little smaller engine but puts out about the same hp. But i wondering which one you guyz think would be best for these riding conditions. I'm a big guy at 6'2" 263lbs but i still like to air the quads out every now and then and race with my friends. So which one do you think? Thanks for any replies

You cant go wrong with either quad. I'd give an edge to the polaris IRS for trail riding. And an edge to the raptor for airing it out. They are both comparable in the HP department but the raptor has a huge torque curve. Either way you wont be disappointed.

id go with the 700.. they have had too many issues with the 525 for me to invest my money in one. JMHO

yeh it all depends on what you want to do. if you want to trail ride i would go with the outlaw(irs) it still has decent power. but if u want to do trails but also want to run mx it just a slightly rougher ride. and if u ride dunes i could go with the the solid axel outlaw. it all depends on wich brand u like better.

in this atv magazine i read there was a shoot out between the 2 and the 700 won. it accelerated faster (proving polaris's claim to be wrong) and was fast and bettwer torque im pretty sure.
