400ex intake on 300ex?

I have heard of puting a 400ex carb on a 300ex and would like to do it but i have heard tht it fits really tight in to the boots and may slip out? this can not happen, i ride really rough. and loseing power or seizing up on the trail 20 miles from the truck is a major problem... I wanted to build a costom intake from air box to carb and wanted to know if a 400ex intake manifold would fit the 300ex? and will my quad run bad with a 400ex carb any hesitations? will it make a noticable difference? thanks for any help

A quick look at the parts either on ebay or an OEM list will tell you no way in hell..........:chinese:

so how tight a fit is it and will i notice any power?

You'll notice "some" difference. But, it really makes a bigger difference on modified motors.

Once you heat up a 300ex airboot and slip it onto the 400ex carb, there's no way in heck it's gonna slip off. It's like putting a pair of 30" waist pants on a 250lb guy. No slipping.. lol.
