I'm selling my 2006 Honda 400ex. One of the few local riding areas shut down, and I'm wanting to get into a dual sport bike. I may be interested in a trade for a good condition full size dual sports bike, (no 250's, I'm a big guy.), such as a KLR / DR / XR 650. Not able to add any cash on my side, but I'm willing to trade for an older bike plus cash, or straight up for the right deal.
The 400ex is very clean, has Dunlop tires all the way around, all about 9/10 condition. One rear tire has a plug in it, but all tires hold air, and do not leak whatsoever.
RUNS PERFECT! Fires right up, every time, all the time. Only time you need to do anything other than just hit the button is on very cold days, she can be cranky like most 400's, but ALWAYS starts after a few seconds of nursing it on choke.
NOT MOLESTED! I did not cut up the airbox, remove the snorkle, cut fenders, or do any 'custom' work to this 400. Everything except the listed mods is still the way it came off the factory floor. It is as reliable as it was when it was brand new.

Mods consist of:
MSR Clutch lever, feels and looks great.
Tusk parking brake block off.
Renthal 14 tooth front sprocket (1 tooth down from stock, I think it's 14 tooth.) Made it much more fun on the trails. I still have stock sprocket.
K&N Filter, comes with cleaner and oil. I also have the stock air filter in great shape.
White Brothers E-Series pipe. Small ding on back side (frame side) of can.

Flaws are:
Plastics have some small scratches from being trail ridden. The plastics are all black, so you can see every single one of them. Plastics have absolutely NO CRACKS, just scratches from branches / mounting and dismounting the bike.
One small (dime sized) scuff on headlight. Looks like it rubbed something in transportation.
Grab bar has some scratches where it would meet the ground, apparently the previous owner liked wheelies.
