Help Chain

hey guys i know i'll sound like i don't know any thing but i just got a new 2003 400ex and i don't know how to tighten the chain up on it i you can guide me through it or sent me pics or something i will really apprecaite it thanks alot Jake

there are 4 allen head bolts (6mm allen i believe) on the back of the swingarm, loosen those up then turn the bearing by turning the collar to the left of the swingarm. i think you turn the carrier clockwise but i cant remember exactly, just turn it and watch the chain and see if it gets tighter or looser. also make sure you check the tensiion with your weight on the bike before your done to make sure it doesnt get too tight when your weights on it. hopefully this will help some
