k&n filter

i have a k&N filter on my 300ex an i was wondering if i put an outerwears cover on the filter will it be safe to take the airbox lid off an ride in wet conditions?

eh thats iffy. If you decide to do that I would deffinately get an outerwears air box cover on top of the outerwears on the filter. Make sure to rejet for the extra air from no lid.

ok,,if i get the airbox lif filter will i need the filter cover?

Wouldn't hurt to have both.

But I have run mine many many times w/o a lid and just a pre-filter.

Make sure you remove your drain plug off the bottom of the airbox so water that does splash in will drain right back out.

thanks for the help.. will the water just run off the pre filter or does it soak it up?
