I am in need of a new chain and sprocket.
I am loking at a Renethal chain and sprocket combo with a r3 o-ring chain on motorsportoutlet and want to know what teeth # to go with front and back. I am giong to start to race mx this summer so what should i run for this?
What do you run?

I say stay 14,38 for MX. Maybe if you were doing long trail rides you could do 15,37 but not for MX. You need acceleration and taller gearing will take that away. Exspecially on a stock motor. With all the power that Pat Brown has done to his YFZ he's still running 14,38.

For mx i run a 15/38, great tourqe and bottom end power , i get awsome holeshots, and coming out of corners, i run a 14/38 for xc

You can't just look at gearing, rear tires size plays a part in it also.

I am running twenties right now but i might be running eighteens, so 14/38?
