I have a question.

I was wondering what the difference between the 99 400's and the 2004's were? i found a 99' with a white bros exhaust and some nerf bars for 1500. is that a good deal?

Its just all cosmetic.

If I where you I'd try to jude him down to 1250, or maybe even 1000, but dont be too cocky.

99-04 are exactly the same.

I think each year they may have tweaked the shocks a little bit, but nothing noticable.

The 05-07 have different gearing, plastics, and reverse.

The 08 has softer shocks, easier clutch pull, different plastics, better ergonomics. Like narrower seat/tank conjucntion with a wider rear.

Nothing ever changed aside from the graphics. (big deal right?)

1500 for a 99 is a bit much.

Jew him down to 1100 or so...then make sure its been well maintained and has no cracks in the frame or anything else.
