well, I got it to run today. my problem the whole 3 weeks of frustration was a decompressor spring and pin! lol
i got it to run but...it will only run about 1/4 throttle before it starts cutting out. it is also hard to start and sounds like it has ALOT of compression but i am only running a 10.8:1 piston. maybe the head or cylinder was shaved?
main issue is why won't it run much mor rpm than idle? it idles and runs but when you give it gas it falls on it's face and dies. if you push the throttle slowly it will run to about 1/4 and then cuts out.
maybe one tooth off?
i think it may be retarded, does that sound right?
one tooth advance shouldn't do that right?

If you were one tooth off you would probably hear some valves hitting. Double check though, it never hurts. I also have to say it may have something to do wtih jetting, maybe not everything to do with it, but part of it.
