Ive got a 2000 rancher es and I think the u joint for the rear drive shaft is going out. This thing is making a high pitched squeal and kind of a clunk sound. I dont know how to remove and replace everything to get to the u-joint, so please help. Is this an easy task, or will it make me throw a hammer? Im not ASC certified but Im also not the guy that takes it in for an oil change. Im not 100% that it is the u-joint because I can only hear tha squeal while driving, especially when im in a turn or flexing the rear axle. Could it be the wheel bearings? What all possibilaties should I eliminate and how? The sound comes and goes. Where can I get the parts I need cheap and good quality?
