View Full Version : PLEASE HELP... silver fluid ???

Hey guys i am in need of some help... I recently just had my carb cleaned and jetted from the shop and when i took it out riding after for like 20 minutes i got home and there was alot of this silver fluid looking stuff dripping into my airbox....i am clueless on what it could be any idea's???? I will post some pics when i can but any help would be great ?

hey dude, go to www.z400central.com and post this in the repairs section... im not sure what that could be but i KNOW for a fact you will get an answer within a half n hour if you post on there...

does the engine oil look the same way?

yeah if your oil looks like that you might have a blown head gasket

Havent had a chance to look at the oil yet i am at work, but if it is a head gasket.... what is the price of that usually with labor??

could depend on if anything else went bad also i would suppose. I blew mine and had to replace the piston and crank? My rod that conects the piston head came out in 4 peices.

That looks like oil and water mixed definably! You maybe getting the oil from the crankcase breather. As of why I am not really sure.

Check your oil out. See if it is a milky color as well.

Ok so i had the time to check the oil an its the same color\consistence.I then took it up to the shop an it is a blown head gasket,an upon further inspection by them they lucky found no damage to the rest of engine.Its kinda of funny because the person i bought it from(from this site) no more than 1 month earlier told me that the top end was just freshened up. So i had to buy the base gasket an head gasket to replace the old an they had to drain the oil 3x to try an clean out what all was in there.

dont feel bad man that happend to me and i had to replace the piston head and crank and the rod that holds the piston head on cam out in 4 pieces atleast your better of then i WAS
