I am buillding up a frank of honda parts right now, and need a carb. engine is a 300, but I dont have a carb, seems like I can always get a 400 for less than a 300. I know i dont really have any mods that i need a larger carb for, but will it still run right with the 400 carb? or is it just too much for stock, and this engine is only 300 til i get it all done and save the money to go big bore and get a cam and other mods. or the engine will get ditched all together for something larger.

I have a '99 300ex with a 400 carb. Although. I do have a good bit of motor work done to the machine. Things such as cam, springs, max bore, high-comp piston, race CDI, port/polish, and a few other minor things. The 400 carb. works well with this setup. How much are you finding 300ex carbs for? I have one I may could sell.

actually just got one for 41 shipped. wasnt too bad, ive seen 400's end a bit cheaper now and then but overall wasnt a bad deal. not as good as my full dg exhaust, rear fender and seat for 61 bucks though. Im glad I found that deal, i was sweatin over how much the exhaust and rear plastic was gonna cost me.
