I am building a frankenstein of honda parts, and have a 300 frame, with a 450r swinger, 250r rear shock on 400ex linkage. only thing is, the fork on the bottom of the shock is wider than the linkage by a good deal, but I can solve that with spacers, but also the hole in the bottom of the shock is huge compared to the bolt hole in the sleeve inside the linkage. does the 250r just use a huge bolt compared to the 400ex, or is there some kind of spacer that sits inside the holes in the shock and reduces their size? if anyone has any pics lying around from a dissasembled rear end or can give me some info that will help me get it all bolted together, id appreciate it. front end is done, engines there, have almost everything to finish it, just gotta get the rear end done and a few parts here and there and it will be good to go.

This linkage piece bolts to the rear of the frame...

I have extra linkage and dogbone piece if you need some pieces.

I also have TRX250R Swingarms. One 86|87, one 88|89, and one Houser No-Link. All fresh finishes....

I think I have all the bolts and everything.

well, I knew what the 250r linkage looked like, and that one end bolts to the frame, but you know how theres the link between the swingarm and shock, and at the same shock mount is ink from sock to frame, well on the 250r the bolt is though one leg of the link, one side of the lower shock fork, through the other link, then through the other side of the shocks lower fork, and then through the other leg of the open ended link?

anyways, I have 400ex lnkage, the the shock just sits around the link, because the linke goes from he swingarm to a pivot point and form there the other link goes to the frame, and the shock mounts at a different point, not where the two links pivot. so I needed to know what kind, if any, of spacer wet between the links and the shock when it all bolts together, because if nothing takes up some of the bore of ther hole in the shock, it must be one huge bolt. do you have any pics of the bolt that goes through the links and the shock? I als looked and it alost lookslike a 400 rear shock would clear if I grinded this little tab off the frame and hd the resorvoir sit down towards the engine, and maybe it would make the mounting easier... but I guess Ill ust have to buy one and try to be sure, or find someoe thats tried, but id like to justget the 250r shock to work since i have it and the resorvoir for sure fits cuz its remote mounted.

I have all of these parts in great shape, the linkage bearings are like new.

I think you are referring to the bolt with the grease zirk plus the linkage bearings.

must just be a huge bolt, because looks like 3 goes inbetween 11 in the narrow link, and then 5 is between 13 on both legs of the forked link, so the bolt must take up the entire hole in the shock, I was hoping there was some kind of sleeve that extended into the shocks holes, because if bore the sleeve out thats in my 400ex linkage, doesnt leave a hole lot of meat left. but it really doesnt need to be that stronge because its not really holding anything together, its just rolling on a needle bearing on one side and holding a bolt in the middle, not really any shear strength or anything needed, and sas thin as its gonna get, I dont see a problem like the pressure from the bolt breaking it or crushing it, so Ill just give it a shot.

thanks
