Sorry if I hijack, but I hadn't even heard of using a banshee front shock in the rear of a 300ex.

I'm just curious.

My first thought is that it would
be horribly too small? Not dimensionally, but valving, springs, and shaft strength.

we just bought a 01 raptor rear shock for my sons 250 ex. it is a remote rezzy shock. i think it would be fine for a adult, but needs to be revalved for my son.

Raptor rear shock is not really a good upgrade its more of a hazard. For 1 its way too stiff. The springs are massive and the valving is stiff. If you do get it revalved and resprung your going to need 1 huge bumper other wise you will end up smashing your exhaust off your differential all the time. I think a 300ex rear shock is a much better upgrade just because its Honda to Honda and its almost the same shock just a little more travel and its gas filled.

I have tried the 300ex and Raptor shocks on my sons 06 250ex and both are to stiff for him on the trails, so I will be going back to the stock shock and the Raptor and the 300ex shocks are for sale.

i have a spring for a 140 lb rider to try plus it will be revalved. it's got to be better than the stock piece of garbage that makes the quad sit too high and is a pogo stick.... let you know when it's done... also i would rather smash the pipe than have limited suspension. wouldn't be the first dented pipe on one of our quad...jmo if anyone has any other ideas, lets hear it.

I seem to have misplace the stocker, so we may have to stay with the 300 shock for a while.
