RTC makes an adjustable brake lever and an easy pull clutch. If you search RTC* you will probably come up with quite a bit here on exriders I also believe if you go to the links page he will be listed. I purchased mine on ebay he sells directly from his ebay store too. I highly recomend it!

A quick search on Google and Ebay for "400EX adjustable front brake lever" finds lots of options.

The drawback to that lever and all other aftermarket levers is that it won't make contact with front stock brake switch. So if you use it, you won't have a way to activate the brake light from the front lever unless to install a different brake switch.

Yes the ASV levers do not have this feature, but this lever does have the switch pad surface for the microswitch, see photo.

Always look for that extended pad area and it should work the brake lights perfectly.

That doesn't look like it will work for brake light activation. You pointed to the brake lever stop. My stock lever had and extra tab to strike the switch and the lever in the picture doesn't have it. Look at your stock lever and look at the picture. You'll see what I mean.

When you look at it from this angle, it apprears to have the extended pad. I am gonna order one anyway so I will let you know for sure. The "pad" area looks a lot "taller" than a non switch pad area.

Looking at the second picture it looks like it might contact the switch but, the tab is pretty long on the stock lever and the stop is narrower. Only way to be certain is to install it.

I use a hydraulic brake switch with my ASV lever.

I saw that before, I never can understand why the more expensive products seem to always come with compromises. It is great to add features, but a good design shouldn't take the standard features away.

Sorry, as an aftermarket product designer/manufacturer it is one of my "pet peeves". Now stepping off stump... :-)

Folow up:

I just received the adjustable brake lever from CDB Motorsports via the Ebay listing. BTW, amazing service! Did Ebay Buy It Now on Friday and get it on Monday!!!

As I thought it does have the extended pad for the brake light switch just like the original. See photo, stock on the left and the new adjustable on the right.

Fit was perfect and feels much better than the stock. Best $14.99 I have spent yet!

Yes it is, an added bonus!

I have always been a 2 finger braker and had been considering getting a shorter one like a lot of aftermarket companies sell or cutting the original one.

I would guess maybe an inch shorter. Next trip by the garage I will measure the 2 and get an accurate number.

It was less of a difference than I thought, closer to 5/8 to 3/4" shorter. Basically about like cutting the "ball" off of the end of the stocker.
