Alrite, having a lot of trouble getting the staked nut off the clutch. The clymer manual says to grind it off then replace the nut, is that really necessary?? I dont have an impact wrench or a clutch holder and moneys tight just now! is there anyway to stop the hub from spinning other than using the tool.I have an impact driver but its no where near as effective as a wrench?

Thanks in advance

It is necessary to grind on that nut. make sure you grind it all the way where it is punched onto the shaft. Ive use a 1/2 drive rachet and hit it a couple of good times with a hammer and broke it loose.

Thanks for the input. It just seems a bit extreme, been working on bikes for years (Mostly hondas and 2-strokes) and have never came across this way to remove a nut unless it was rounded or ran out of ideas to get it off lol. Suppsose i'll be getting the dremel out then lol
