Frame paint...what color is it?

What color is the frame on the 400ex? Does anyone know where I can get this info. I googled it for a while but found nothing. I just need to touch up my frame a bit.

PJ1 works great and it a frame paint.factory honda colors too.

I searched all the other post about this, and all the links that I saw had nothing about the right paint. It had honda red or honda white

Aren't the earlier 400 frames and a-arms a different color than the later ones?

I thought it changed around 03-04?

I think it went from a darker gray to a lighter gray. I think it was 03 when it went lighter but I'm not positive.

I thought it changed around 03-04? you are right my friend! that's why if he gives me the year i can give him the Honda paint color part number but not sure if you get it in a spray can.Now I've personally used the pj1 on my frame and it was a lighter grey than my original 400ex frame color but i expected that seeing how it was for oem XR frame color, i don't think pj1 sells a specific trx frame paint although i may be wrong.

I corrected my previous post. I personally used it on my 06' 400EX frame and my son's 06' CRF120F frame and it's a dead on match.

There is such a thing. That website is out of stock now. Try this other website. Same part number and slightly cheaper at $7.50 a can. Honda Silver 53-6124

Good find, they also seem to have the earlier frame color too.

If all else fails just call your local dealer, every Honda dealer I have been in carries PJ products and can order the color if they don't have it in stock.

Thanks for that find! I was given up on it. My local Honda shops act clueless to this type of thing.

Try to find one of the guys in the parts dept of your local Honda dealer that you can get to know better. My "Honda Parts dude" has turned into a good friend over the years and he will dig and find anything I want, and always takes care of me with pricing. Some of the time I educate him on some of the stuff he doesn't know about and it only helps him be better at his job, turns into a win, win situation for both of us.

I called a few dealers and no one can get the pj1 paint. why? the honda silver has been discontinued by pj1.

i would call them like i did and tell them there is a need for the oem honda silver frame paint. the guy who i spoke to said if there was a need for it again (sales were down on this paint) they would make a barrel of it. it take 800 cans to make a barrel he stated. if you want to see this paint, get some to stock up on, call pj1 today at the listed number and tell them we want the paint made again. thanks everyone. hope this helps or works

Mine is a 2000 and stock on the frame paint.

It is indeed darker and two-tone original.
The frame is sort of a battleship gray color... a creamy dark primer gray.
The A-arms are silver.

I think I have decided I don't like this look. Especially not with my Duncan graphics and PRM skids in place. Maybe I'll wait for winter, but I want to frame-off strip it down.

Nothing crazy... probably just all one color... probably something close to brushed aluminum. Not real worried about keeping the frame stock appearance.
