I have read mixed results on cutting the spring. The hot ticket seems to be a spring swap with a yammy yzf. Do a search on throttle mod here or at predatorowners.com.

The part is 10 or 20 bucks and people sell them on ebay.

I have done the throttle mod on my 525. By cutting the stock spring you can actually make the throttle stiffer. It made a big difference and is really nice when your hands are cold and still have a lot of riding to do :macho

The YFZ has the stiff throttle also and the new spring is actually for it, but both the YFZ and 525 run the FCR carb, so look for "YFZ throttle spring" on ebay. There is not one currently for sale that I could find on ebay, but this one just closed.

The seller is JohnHonda.

I've done the spring remount (moved the spring catch point down onto the next spot down on the throttle shaft pulley) which takes away some pressure and helps. But I recently went to a john honda spring and its maybe alittle better than the mod I had done before. Alot better than stock.
