Anyone else watching the lunar eclipse right now? I tried taking pictures of it but my camera can't focus correctly so the pics come out blurry. Pappy can you get a shot of it from where you are?:D

its pretty cool looking, but without a tripod i cant get a shot of it that will show its colors (really red here ) id dig out a tripod but the wind would just shake it all around.

It's -10 here and no idea what the wind is. I was outside with my camera with no gloves on...sucked doing it for nothing but a few blurry pics. Your picture turned out pretty good though.

Here's the best I could do, this was taken from some video on my camera as in picture mode it couldn't get a focus on it.

How did you get it to focus so well on the moon? I'm guessing you have a manual focus. I'm pretty sure mine is automatic only.:(

we had a meteor yesterday morning at 5:30 am. Seen from everywhere in OR, ID, WA, MT and some in surrounding areas. Made a huge flash in the sky.

No one has found anything yet to see if it landed

Are you sure it wasn't the satellite that they were going to blow up? Anyone hear anything about that?

I like the clouds in this one. I bet a little photoshop work, lighten this area and that, it would turn out really good.

not yet. $30-40 million satalite (sp) and we're shooting up $10mil rockets to try to destroy it before it lands and starts, possibly, a war. and hey, if we miss the first shot, we always have a backup rocket, $10mil more...
lol good government money huh. i guess it beats a war.

Considering we spent over 60 billion on the war in Iraq in 2005 ALONE, I would say that 10 million in exchange for not starting another war, is pretty fair.

Nat'l debt of 9+ trillion dollars. I really hope the next president has a good economic plan to try and get us back in the clear again....

If not, we're fxcked.:(

They did hit it on the first try and it exploded into football sized pieces or something like that. I guess the meteor could have been a piece from the satellite, but it probably burned up before it hit the ground.

Oh cool. I wonder if anyone caught it on tape if it was visible and threw it up on YouTube.

Theres the official military video or something on youtube... It's not super clear but you can see the explosion.
