Try a new clutch cable before you tear into it

Yep try silicone spray inside the cable, it makes a world of difference.

The first thing to do is remove the cable from the clutch engager on the right crankcase. Than test it for resistance. Often times the inner cable sleeve melts due to header heat. Like the others said, lube the heck out of it. If there's still a lot of resistance after you lube it than it's time for a new cable but, If there was no resistance when you cycled it disconnected than you might have heavy duty clutch springs installed.
