440ex Motor Noise, Please Help

I keep hearing a noise and it sounds like its comming from the engine. Its when the motors has a lot of stress. Like when i was stuck n sand and i was given it gas. Its perdy loud and it sounds like metal hitting metal, hard. Please help.

gotta be more specific. If sitting in neutral and revving do you hear it? Put your ear by the motor and see if its in the top, bottom end etc?

If it only does it when the wheels or spinning it could be anything from drive chain, skid rattling etc.

Ive heard some nasty rattles/knocks while riding that got me nervous and thinking time for teardown but ended up being loose skid bolts, chain noise, bad bearing somewhere etc lots of times.

Use a long screw driver to listen to the engine. Handle against your ear, other side on engine. report back.
