View Full Version : Not "1" LRD???

Anyone have an LRD engine? I asked a while back and
nobody had one. Very surprising! I was gonna send
them my engine in a month or so and would REALLY like
to hear from someone with experience with them.

I have an LRD 265 Powervalve. I know thats not much help with your 400 but Nacs uses LRD and I have no complaints with them. I think your gonna get what you pay for. There arent any of the top manufacturers having many problems. I think its a matter of time spent building versus money. We race the Nats week in and week out with all the tops in the business and everyone has a boo boo every now and then. What matters is who is gonna take care of your needs in a timely manner for the right price. Good luck. Mo;)

I have dealt with LRD, I sent them my bottom end and had a 350PV motor built for my TRX. It's very strong, they were good to deal with, I have no complaints. Talk to Arlan and tell him what you want, that is what you'll get.

Balance has won the GNCC title the last 3 years,,he's not last.


and I say send your motor to LRD..I'd let them work on my quad anyday,,there a respectable company so send the mofo off and tell us how it runs when ya get it back.

I have a LRD 350 motor on my 250r. It has beaten bikes a R has no business beating :D
As for 400ex's, a buddy of mine has a LRD 440 motor he had built for MX. It is very torquey and puts down about 50hp (Arlan says about double the stock hp). I'm not a fan of four strokes, but when I rode it I was pretty impressed. I bet on a MX track it rocks. The total cost was $2200. It included 440 kit, head porting, oversized valves, beefed up valvetrain components (Ti springs, etc), Web cam, Quicksilver carb, and a few other things I have forgotten.
LRD is one of the biggest names in motor building for a reason!
