400ex help !

I just bought a 1999 400ex with full skids,bumper,airfilter, white brothers pipe, nerf bars, graphics kit,realator tires. what would you guys recommend upgrading to go faster and for performence? and also any comments about the 400ex would be help. thanks

I'm guessing everyone will tell you to upgrade your suspension
first (aftermarket shocks, etc.). If you want to build the motor
you have some decisions to make. I have seen MANY different
threads on which kit or individual parts to get. Their are sooo
many ways to go that I think you just need to search this site
and read past threads to gain knowledge and make the right
choice for your riding style. You can go with 416,425,440,465,
500,etc. I personally think that you should go with a well know
manufacturer (tc, trinity, lrd, fst, etc., etc.) and either have
them build your motor or atleast buy there kit. they "match"
all the components and sell it as a "kit".
As far as the 400ex goes.......Awsome quad, haven't had any
problems with the 2 that I own and LOVE them both.
