Try running the 400ex a-arms and 450r shock combo should achieve what your looking for at just a lil bit over your budget.

I've ran the 400ex arms on a 250x (same thing) and I never noticed this infamous bump steer. You will need a upper shock mount relocation kit because the longer shocks will jack it up like a baja racer. Over all it was a big improvement.

not for $400...you can maybe get your rear revalved but I don't know much about your riding style or 300ex's. To stabilize the rear the main thing is to get an adjustable axle.

I've heard of people using a 2001 Raptor rear shock (this is the only year with a remote reservoir). But I'm not sure if it just bolts up, or if there is any modding to do.

does anyone have pics of an 01' raptor shock in a 300ex?...and is it an improvment, does it lower the quad? thanks

Send a PM to JoE4554. His signature says he has a 01 raptor rear shock; it also says 400ex a-arms and ltr450 front shocks. Good luck!
