what do i need to do a 400ex to a 450r front brake set up? I know i need the front spindle's and calipers, anything else? And what would be my advantages of doing this? Would my brakes then feel like a 450rs? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

you will need :

rotors
spindles
calipers
and you might be able too get away without using the hubs your 400ex ones might work

the 450r has the best brakes of any sports quad so yeah it would be an improvment

If you don't want to do all that but want better front brakes swap out your front brake lines for stainless steel lines. The stock lines are "spongy" and give a lot. The SS lines offer a much improved braking and cost around $100. I scored a new set off ebay for $45 shipped.

i already have the braided stainless steel lines and the feel is improved but not what i really was looking for.

if you search on EBAY you can sometimes find the whole front brake system off a 450r..... the 06-07 spindles are a half inch wider than the 04-05 450r's so they would make your quad 1" wider.....

To be quite honest with you i get better prices on ATV parts from this web site in the parts section and try to steer clear of eBay, everyone these days is trying to make a living off from it and the prices are not very good anyways but i will keep checking around.

there are caliper mounting adapters to mount dual piston honda 250R calipers to your existing hubs, spindles, and rotors. they are manufactured by baldwin racing I believe, it is just another option without dismanteling the spindles.

what year spindle form the 450r is best for the 400ex? Can someone tell me what angle of camber that 04-05,06-07, 08 are?

I believe that the 400 and 450R use the same rotors...

For what that is worth...
