in the near future we are gonn abe picking up my first truck.:D we're buying it from a friend. it as a 96 chevy 1500. i want to go ahead and start saving for a muffler. i want something that is going to give it a very deep throaty sound. i don't want to spend alot, so what's the best muffler for the price. oh and i want duels.;)

Mac Prochambers sounds good.

I have dynomax bullets on my dodge.

I'll get a video tomorrow....

PS-ignore the slight exhaust leak when I post the video...I havent had time to get it fixed.:(

you cant go wrong with flowmaster. i had them on my mustang and put turn downs afte the axle. it sounded really sweet. it was the american thunder series 2, but if i would put the tips on i couldnt hardly hear it.

I have true duels with 18" glasspacks on my z71. I like it a lot better than some of the flowmasters ive heard. Has a lot of cackle...

Before that I had a cat then it split into a Y pipe. I didn't really like that. It wasn't loud at all.

I have a 2 chamber FullBore muffler with 2 1/2 inch duals on my 2003 GMC sierra. Which is the same thing as a flowmaster 40 series because flowmaster lost there paton so anyone can make there mufflers. It sounds great not to load but not to quite just right. Everyone always says how good my truck sounds.

Not trying to pick a fight, but if your truck sounds like the million other Z71's...then it sounds like chit.

That loud popping sound when you floor it just sounds so ratty to me.

Once again...not trying to pick a fight...:chinese:

Flowmaster 40 series!
ive had people i dont even know at stoplights tell me my truck sounds good.
whatever you do dont be a hick and get straight pipes. oh it might sound cool for a minute but thats about it. not only will you not be able to think will driving down the road but your truck will also sound like a piece of crap.

Like everyone else here I'm running flowmasters. I had dynomax bullets before, but they were too poppy. I've always liked the sound of flowmasters.

Well your not only talking about the z71's your also saying that about all of the other chevy 1500's. They all have the same chevy 350 motor in them. They changed to a vortec in 95, and my truck is a 94....

I wish it was a vortec though...

get magnaflow mufflers and true dual exhaust. you wont be disappointed. If you get flowmasters be sure you drill 2 small holes in the bottom side of the canister to drain condensation or else you'll rust them out fairly quick. i've seen it happen to a few vehicles.
