Needle clip question

What notch does the clip come in from the factory. I pulled the damn thing out and forgot which one it came out of. I put it in the 3 from the top. I was trying to richen up the middle. I think I got it right just want to be sure. It backfires when you let off of it I have a 160 main jet now should I go up one more?

If I recall correctly, mine has five settings, and the clip was in the middle (#3).

it comes factory in the 3rd notch, the middle, just my 2 cents but i would try the second notch with your setup

Your set-up is pretty close to mine (except I'm using 155 main, and 12 discs on e-series). I had to drop the clip down one notch.

So that would be the 4 slot from the top? I pulled the clip off and didn't pay attention to what slot it was in.:huh

Yup, that's what I had to do in my case. I had a low/middle end stumble that changing the pilot wouldn't cure, so I moved the clip on the needle.
