What parts will fit a 400 from a 450r?

I just installed a maier c/f 450r hood on my 2000 400ex tonight. took a little time but it turned out great.

Carb, Front Shocks, Handle Bars... and a bunch of other stuff i think but those are the only ones i remember right now

foot pegs which are wider and alittle better the heel guards will fit also but you have to trim your rear plastic to match them

the hoods fit up the same(me and my bud swaped)pegs, front shocks ,rear will work i think, carb, bumper i think.....ummmm theres probly more, alot of 250r stuff will fit on a ex also, swinger and s**t...

The 450R hood will only work on the 400ex that has the same style plastics wouldnt it? I mean if you put it on the 1999 to what ever year they stayed the first style I think it would look goofy..not saying it wouldnt fit...You guys have any pics of the 450R hood on the oldest style 400ex?

no no no... the 450r hood will only fit on the 05 and newer styles of 400ex's(there the exact same) even have the same PN.

i'm shure you can.. but there is no spot on the old styles for a hood.. you would have to do some modifying i suppose

yeah you just have to cut the headlight mounts off

Theyre basically the same width and probably no stronger.

Just spend $330 and buy some +2 fullflight a-arms if your going to go cheap and want a-arms. There is nothing wrong with fullflights arms BTW. Theyre a newer company and dont have the reputation that Laegers, Houser, Walsh, Roll, etc. have.

They might have a stock width set of arms...

If you race XC then your gonna want to check out some MCG arms (max ground clearance)

the whole rearend works. I have a 04 400 w/ complete 450r suspension front and rear. The rear makes no big diff. from stock 400 but the brakes are better (smaller rotor = more clearance) imo.



I never tried the steering stem but im curious to know if they work.

the wheel hubs interchange also.

Its good to know what bikes are compatible, makes finding parts when needed a little simpler

the pegs and heel guars will work you just have to trim your rears to match the upward angle of the 450

the stem of a 450 is a bigger diameter I believe

A-arms off a 450r wont fit a 400 there too big and dont line up at alll

What did you have to do to get the 450R hood fitted onto the older style 400ex fenders? looks really good

cut off headlight piece so you can lay hood down flat.(remember you can always trim more off, you cant put any back on)so take your time!! lay it out flat & trace with dry erase marker. drill your holes,cut off the nose and bolt it on, wipe off the marker. dont get in a hurry with this mod. measure 10 times,cut once.
