What will it take to make my 07' 400 ex to keep up with a CRF450R? I was wondering if a full exhaust/ CDI/ Jets/ Intake/ Hot cam will do it?

-Ben A CRF??? If you mean like keeping up drag racing I'd say you're out of luck.

A good 440 motor will give them a RFTM but there is nothing you can do to keep up with them once they do internal mods.

There is not much you can do to keep up with a CRF450 i think they are pushing close to 50 hp stock.

i had a pretty modded 416 that would keep with them on a start, but it wasnt long before they started to pull away. I could still smoke them in turns though!! :D

Yea I believe they are alot faster then a 450r . Thye are prolly the fastest stock 4 stroke motors i ahve seen. They CRF my buddy has wins the trail class at the drags all the time and there are soem modded yfz and 450r there so they are hard to beat in a straight line/

Dirtbikes are so much faster if a well modded 400ex can just keep up with relatively stock 450 quads then idk what you will have to do.

Even a trx 450r would get beat by a CRF450r no 400ex is going to keep up with a modern fourstroke dirtbike of 450cc's and if a 400ex did have stand a chance it would only be by chance that the 400ex got off the line quicker because the dirtbike stalled out or the person driving the dirtbike lets the clutch rip and flips over backwards lol ..

(400ex)Curb Weight 410 lbs (Includes all standard equipment, required fluids and a full tank of fuel—ready to ride) .......................(CRF45r)Curb Weight 238 lbs (Includes all standard equipment, required fluids and a full tank of fuel—ready to ride) ....................power to weight the dirtbike should always have the advantage and come out on top.Apples to oranges!!!......the dirtbike will always be lighter and have more engine than an EX in most cases.

Ok thats what I figured going to have to put up with getting beat. Well sorry but I have another question for you guys with the mods I listed above would I keep up with a stock 450?

With what you listed above I dont believe you could beat a stock 450 but if you got a high comp pistion to go along with those mods you might be able to start talkin about beatina 450. I if you go and get soem head work done I know you could beat a stock 450 maybe even a piped one. Its all abourt getting e veryhting in your motor to work together for the right setup
